Bahadurpur, a block near Darbhanga city, was the birthplace of the Madhubani master Godavari Dutta (1930–2024), a Padma Shri artist renowned for her fine Katchni line-work and her long association with the Mithila Museum in Japan. The area’s temples and Kamala-side fairs mark it as a typical, deeply-rooted village of the Darbhanga plain.
