Nitin Chandra is a filmmaker who, with his sister Neetu, founded Champaran Talkies and conceived Mithila Makhaan — the first Maithili film to win a National Film Award (2016). Shot across Toronto, India and Nepal, it told a story of migration and homecoming in the Maithili tongue.

His work, and the OTT platform the siblings built for regional film, has been central to the modern effort to give Maithili cinema both quality and an audience.
