Ranti is the counterpart to Jitwarpur — the village famed for the delicate, line-built Katchni style of Madhubani painting. It produced master artists including Mahasundari Devi, Karpoori Devi and Godavari Dutta, and trained later Padma Shri honourees such as Dulari Devi. Where Jitwarpur dazzles with colour, Ranti draws the eye in close with shimmering networks of line.
