Opened on 11 January 2023 at Araria Sangram village near Jhanjharpur, Mithila Haat is a 26-acre theme-park built to gather Mithila’s living culture in one place. A craft bazaar sells Madhubani paintings, Sikki grasswork and Khadi textiles; an amphitheatre stages Maithil music and dance; and a food court serves regional dishes from thekua to makhana sweets.
With boating, a resort and gardens around a central pond, the Haat is designed for families and for travellers beginning a Mithila itinerary. It is the first dedicated cultural-tourism complex for the region, offering artisans a marketplace and visitors an accessible introduction to Maithil heritage.
